Internet Explorer 8 website health checks
So why should you have your website tested in Internet Explorer 8?
- Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) has already been rolled out as an automatic update; therefore, many of your customers will now be using IE8 as instead of earlier versions.
- Some old websites which have not been updated to accommodate for the update may have code which is no longer valid under IE8’s strict guidelines. Ultimately this may cause layout and functionality issues.
- Any errors which do occur as a result of the updated Internet Explorer may also be errors within other new browsers. Therefore, if you fix them now you reduce the risk of experiencing these problems in other browsers or at a later date.
- Some websites and online services, such as YouTube, are phasing out support for browsers older than IE8 and are therefore encouraging more and more people to upgrade to a modern browser.
