What is Travelberry?
Travelberry is the first ‘dynamic packaging engine’ that allows travel companies and tour operators to pick their own XML / API / GDS suppliers and sell them through their web platform with unique layouts and added functionality.
In essence, Travelberry provides unique online selling opportunities for travel companies, offering them the ability to search multiple travel data sources such as XML Feeds, API's and Web Services. Travelberry returns combined results for multiple travel products (e.g. flights/hotels) at a single price and in a common format on a consumer facing travel website.
When online consumers visit a website powered by Travelberry, they can find travel stock such as flights, hotels, car hire, tours, transfers, ferries, cruises, travel extras and more, all from a variety of operators and suppliers. Based on customers’ searches, the results are returned and displayed with packaged prices, without showing the individual product prices. This allows mark-ups for specific items to be concealed by the travel agent. This feature, along with the excellent up selling opportunities in the Travelberry system, provides a firm base for increasing margins across all sales.
In terms of website expansion and growth, Travelberry has the ability to incorporate new data sources quickly, such as flight and hotel feeds. This allows travel companies to utilise product feeds more readily and release them to market far quicker. As soon as new products are ready the customer can start buying these straight away, while avoiding costly downtime of the travel website. Travelberry will integrate with most back-office systems and provide total flexibility with regards to customer facing web page layouts. Tour operators can also use the system to package their own products and re-distribute via their own XML feed.
