Umbraco 8 is the latest version of the popular Umbraco CMS platform. As an Umbraco Gold Partner, we are excited to be working with Umbraco 8 on the design and development of new websites. Please see below for further details on the three new additions.
The biggest new feature on Umbraco 8 is Content Apps. Designed to enhance your content-editing experience, Content Apps allow you to easily access key information relating to the page or media item that you’re editing. Some apps are designed to give you an insight into your page’s performance. For example, one app displays Google Analytics data for the page, whilst another displays SEO audit scores. Other apps are tools that act as an extension to the native editing features, for example, there is an image app that allows you to enhance the brightness or contrast of an image.
For those familiar with the Umbraco CMS platform, you’ll know that it is renowned for its user-friendly nature. With Umbraco 8, the process of managing your content is even simpler. The UI has been re-designed, meaning that content editors can edit pieces of content and media in one place, without having to navigate to a different area of the admin. Now, you can access pretty much everything you need for editing a page in one area.
Umbraco 8 introduces a new native feature called language variants. This is an excellent tool that will be invaluable to you if you operate across regions with different languages. Your content editors will be able to easily create variations of the same page in different languages, and easily switch between variations for future editing.
Please note that CSI Media will continue to provide ongoing support and development updates for previous versions of Umbraco.
