Pastest provide medical revision resources for students and junior doctors. With over 45 years’ experience in developing revision materials - many of which have been recognised at the British Medical Association awards - students are assured of high-quality resources that will maximise their performance in crucial exams.
We were appointed by Pastest to build an e-commerce website that would enable junior doctors and students to purchase medical revision resources. The website needed to provide a seamless buying experience, with a full internal API system integration with their pre-existing course system, MyPastest, for access to course materials, and additional e-commerce and marketing capabilities. A further objective was to help raise awareness of the product by driving more traffic to the website.
The new, bespoke e-commerce website is built on Umbraco, and is designed to provide a fluid shopping experience, incorporating registration, basket and payment functionality. The e-commerce solution integrates with the MyPastest course system. Upon logging in, users with an active online subscription are directed to this system for access to their account and course materials. Furthermore, the integration facilitates member discount functionality.
Finally, the website integrates with Pastest’s Analytics service for further marketing opportunities. For example, if a user adds a product to the basket but does not complete their purchase, an email will be sent to the user as a prompt.
We initially implemented the designs created by Pastest. However, we are currently in the process of re-designing pages across the website, and our iterations of the home and product pages are now live. Our aim is to encourage users to purchase the products via an attractive design and intuitive UI.
We work closely with the Web Development team at CSI Media which functions like an extension of our own IT workforce. They are very responsive to any updates we need to make to the site - whether urgent or planned - and always complete work on time.
